Chopper
Hello there.
This is a fan art tribute to one my favourite manga character.
I've chose this subject to study and improve my skill on fur systems.
For this character i've used 5 maya furDescriptios; 3 of them combed using hairSystems and furAttractors.
Modelled in Maya. Texturing and sculpting done with Photoshop and Zbrush. Environment done with Vue d'esprit.

Kathakali Actor
Hi all.
I choose this subject for the grotesque and disquieting appearance of this particular kathakali character. This subject interest me also for the complex preparation for this traditional indian dance/recital.
All modelled with Maya. Textured and retouched in Photoshop. Detailed in Zbrush and rendered with 3delight.

Maya Hair - FeatherSystem Tool Demo
As you can see it's possible to convert the mayaHairSystem into a FeatherSystem.
It's possible to tweak the single feather shape through attributes.
The feathers can be controlled progressively to comb and to set wing's rest position.

This is a simple collision test on my featherSystem using nCloth.
Maya Hair - clumpMaker
This video explain a tool i have relized to simplity the hairDress workflow.
The tool create nurbsCurve from a selection of closed nurbsCurve, as usual the character's hairclump profile.
Grass Growth
I did this simple animation to test animated attribute in Maya Fur with animated map.
I've used map rendered in AfterFx also for texturing and shading just for fun.
Tree Growth
This is a simple test i've made to study different use of Maya hairSystem.
For the tree i've used only Maya HairSystems converted in pfx/nurbs and some attributes animation.

As you can see i've been inspired by Terminator and I Robot to generate an artificial creature as elegant and speedy as clever.

This is an old animation test i did some years ago for Animation Class at IED Roma.
It is not nothing special but i like it for the minimal 3d approach.
